Our Mission
Kindred Impact is a new and growing, community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to recognizing the milestones of foster children, and those in group homes without traditional family support and revitalizing Philadelphia neighborhoods through grassroots service. We aim to foster belonging, dignity, and support by delivering personalized correspondence of encouragement and organizing local cleanups—building a foundation of resilience, pride, and shared responsibility for a brighter future.

Why We Are Needed
When the System Forgets, We Remember
Many foster youth are aging out of a system that never fully showed up for them.
They don’t just lack support—they lack the most basic tools to begin adulthood.
Some don’t know their full name.
Many don’t have a state ID, social security card, or birth certificate, these are essentials for getting a job, housing, or even enrolling in school.
Many were never taught how to write a resume, apply for a job, open a bank account, or get a driver’s license.
When they age out, they’re expected to figure out life on their own, with no family to call, no backup plan, and no instructions.
This is where we step in.
Kindred Impact is built to meet them where they are—with real tools, real encouragement, and real connection.
We send milestone messages and reminders that they’re not forgotten. We plan to expand into life-skill workshops, ID assistance, job prep, and more.
A young person shouldn’t be penalized for the family they didn’t have.
We believe everyone deserves the dignity of being known, the tools to build a future, and the confidence that they matter.
Our Core Values
At Kindred Impact, we know that recognizing a child’s potential begins with believing in their future. As part of our mission to support children without traditional family structures and uplift our neighborhoods, we are introducing educational tools and resources that reflect our values of belonging, dignity, and opportunity.
Our work goes beyond encouragement—we aim to empower. That’s why we’re developing a collection of practical learning materials designed to support youth in their academic growth, personal development, and everyday confidence.
-

-
Equity
We uplift youth who are often overlooked, ensuring every voice is heard and every achievement acknowledged. We believe visibility is the first step toward justice.

Educational Empowerment for Youth
Educational Correspondence
We will provide accessible guidance on high school and college readiness, including practical advice on course selection, application processes, financial aid, and choosing a career path. Youth will also gain insight into various career opportunities across public service, business, science, trades, and more. We believe in teaching foundational life skills that are often overlooked:
-
Cursive Penmanship Training Notebooks: Reviving the art of legible, confident handwriting.
-
Arithmetic & Reasoning Practice: Developing critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills through engaging notebooks and activities.
-
Reading Comprehension & Applied Research: Teaching youth how to read with purpose, analyze texts, and conduct simple but effective research that helps them form their own ideas and conclusions.
